Both assessments assesses, children early on to see which students
are at risk of reading difficulty. In addition, both assessments help teachers
to plan individualized instruction based on assessment results. Both
assessments, determine if students are making progress, or if more intervention
is needed. Both assessments measures fluency, comprehension, vocabulary connected with the text.
The ways these assessments differ, QRI5 extends k-12, Dibels is administered from k-6. Dibels is also a timed assessment. Additionally, Dibels, is a formal assessment and the QRI5 is an informal assessment. Dibel uses comparative data through standardized assessments. However, the QRI5 results are not comparative they are individually assessed.
